About the Rice Lake Area Chamber
The Rice Lake Area Chamber of Commerce is an active proponent of business and industry in the region. We have developed and are aggressively pursuing our Mission: "Promoting a strong, growing economy which enhances the quality of life in our area." We operate on an annual budget of over $125,000, all of which is earned from a combination of dues income, services provided and non-dues income activities.
Organized in 1951, the Chamber has for over 50 years been a catalyst to the ongoing growth of business in the area, working closely with entities such as the Red Cedar Development Corporation and the City of Rice Lake. Our members represent all of the major elements of business and industry in the area including: Financial, Insurance, Manufacturing, News media, Professional, Public Utilities, Real Estate, Retail, Services, and Tourism. Associate memberships are held by a number of individuals who also want to support the community.
The Chamber is led by an Executive team of four volunteer Officers (President, President Elect, Treasurer and Past President) who work closely with our full-time, salaried Executive Director. Management is furthered by a hands-on Board of Directors who meet monthly to conduct the necessary business of the Chamber. A full-time administrative assistant and a part-time assistant round out the team.
The Board of Directors is comprised of 12-15 elected individuals who serve for a three-year term of office. In addition, we have several active committees, the chairpersons of which also join the Directors at monthly meetings. The Committees are the engine of the Chamber; they get the job done. The following brief overview of the purpose and activities of our committees will help to illustrate both the focus and breadth of effort in this dynamic Chamber.
